Merry Me

Are you ready for Christmas? Me too! hahaha I love Christmas. ♥ In case you’re wondering, there’s only 216 days left until Christmas. You’re welcome. Because I know you wanted to know that. *wink*

So I’ve been busy writing my Christmas story for this year. After changing my mind a lot, I decided to write another story that connects with the characters in Merry Me. But you know me, it’ll be a standalone. I’ve also been busy working on a great little surprise for Christmas time when the new book comes out. Ugh! Gotta work on my patience because I wanna tell you what it is. But I’m not! *chuckles, slightly evil like* I still love you, but it’ll be a great surprise!

Since Christmas is on my mind, it made me want to change my cover for Merry Me, not that anything was wrong with it. Just felt like changing it. Here it is!

How much do you love it! Because I’m loving it a lot!

Well, back to the grind of writing and planning and plotting and having a merry time! ♥

The Danger With Love

Today is the day! The Danger With Love is live! Get it now!

A beautiful wedding. An exquisite dress. A night to remember. If only she were the bride. Sarafina just wants her fairytale ending like all her friends, but she seems doomed to always be the bridesmaid. Until she runs into him—the groomsman walking her down the aisle. She might be attracted to him, but he screams nothing but trouble.

Special Agent Dax Delcroy never wanted this assignment. Being old college roommates with the groom meant the case was his anyway. Get in and get out. Get the information to take down the bride’s father, the most ruthless mobster in the city. It should all be so easy. Except nothing is easy the minute he meets her.

Swiping another glass of champagne from the passing tray, Dax took a deep swig before reminding himself he needed to tone down the drinking. He was supposed to be working, not getting shit-faced drunk.

The thought was appealing, though, especially every time he saw Sarafina’s beautiful face, and he saw it a lot, considering he purposely made a point to seek her out. Unobtrusively, of course. It wouldn’t do well for her to know he was looking at her, or anyone else. Particularly Martin Chilani, or even Travis Chilani.

He didn’t have a full dossier on Travis. But there wasn’t much to report since, as far as they could tell, he wasn’t involved hands-on in the organization. His criminal activity didn’t concern Dax at the moment. No. He wanted to know what his relationship to Sarafina was.

Dancing, laughing, even some kissing had been going on between the two, making him want to break something every time his lips connected with her. Sure, it wasn’t on the actual mouth. A peck on the cheek here, another peck on the cheek there. But his lips anywhere on her for any reason made Dax want to get his gun and shoot him.

He shouldn’t be having this reaction, especially over a woman he just met. Every time his eyes glossed over to her, the protective feelings swarmed inside, begging to be released.

The fact was, Travis Chilani couldn’t be trusted. His last name assured that he couldn’t be trusted and he wanted him nowhere near Sarafina just for that reason.

It wasn’t that easy. He couldn’t waltz up to her and tell her why she should maintain her distance from any member of the Chilani family, Lily included. She would certainly look at him like horns were sticking out of his hair and perhaps a little crazy in the head. Questions would be asked, suspicions would rise, and his cover would be blown.

The best thing he could do was wipe her from his memory. Forget she ever existed. She was merely another female that would complain in his ear that he didn’t talk enough, or that he worked too much, or he didn’t show her enough affection. Just another woman.

His eyes zoomed in on her again as she continued making her rounds around the ballroom, talking, laughing, and enjoying herself with everyone. Most from the Chilani family or connections to the family.

Damn his concern for her. Not only protective-like either. How much knowledge did she have of the family? What if she knew all about their operations? Was she dating Travis, fully aware of what happened behind closed doors? Could he extract all of his intel he needed from her?

Her face lit up with delight as she laughed at what her companion said, a halo of innocence surrounding her.

How could he use her to complete his job? He didn’t want to believe she could be involved or have any knowledge about these people. Pretending ignorance would be best. He wasn’t sure he would have the gumption to slap a pair of handcuffs on her.

A little bit of change…

I’ve been agonizing over this for a while now, and decided to try something with my book covers in the McCord Series. I do like my flowers that I previously had (because, yeah, flowers rock), but I’m hoping these new covers might catch the eye more. I like to make my own covers and go against the grain, so to speak, when it comes to creating my covers. I like doing everything myself. It’s very empowering and makes me feel so good inside when I complete something…in every aspect of my life. So, here are my new covers! I hope you like them:) You’ll see them on Amazon soon, when they get to updating it. lol

The Danger With Love

Lots going on here! Just this past Monday, during my flash fiction, I told you I put another book up for preorder. The Danger With Love. I’m pretty excited about this book, although I do say that with every book because it’s always so exciting!!! If you’ve read my books before, especially my suspense books, you know my books are more light on the suspense, heavy on the romance. You can probably always count on that when it comes to my books. That’s just what I love. I would classify this novel as having some suspense, but not the whodunit kind of suspense. More like, oh no, what’s going to happen!?

I’ve been very busy these last few weeks, doing author stuff and home stuff. There is no rest for me…ever! hahaha. But I like to give you wonderful readers a book every few months, because you deserve it! And I’ve had this wonderful story hanging around for a while, so I want to share it with you. Today I made some cool promo banners. I can’t decide which quote I enjoy more. Tell me what you think! I’d love to know.

And don’t forget! You can preorder this awesome story for only $.99 right now. Once it goes live, it goes up to $3.99.

The Danger With Love

Flash time…with a little surprise!

It’s flash fiction time again! I’m enjoying this little storyline. Abe and Jemma have a huge obstacle to overcome. Will it happen? lol. Well, you all know how I love happy endings. *wink* Doesn’t mean I can’t surprise you one day. hahaha. This weeks prompt looked hard at first, but once I started writing, it came pretty easy. Oh, and I have a special surprise for you at the end of the flash. Let’s read!

Prompt: Who knew tears could burn?

“I know what you’ve been doing.” He leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. “Did you honestly think I wouldn’t find out?”

Jemma refused to lose her composure. Especially in front of her father. “I don’t see a problem.”

He stood up, his posture, his size, the fierce scowl on his face imposing. She wanted to back away, but she held her ground. Never in her life had she let her father intimidate her, and she wasn’t about to start now. He rounded his desk, inching closer to her.

“You insisted on going to that event. Surrounded by cops. And for—”

“I have many friends. I’m involved in many charities. Why does it matter? You have cop friends.” The muscle in his cheek ticked from her interrupting him. And probably from her words. Yeah, she was goading him. Testing him. Taunting him, even. But she wasn’t going to stand silently and let him get away with that. He had so many cops in his dirty pocket it wasn’t funny. Not that he’d ever admit that. No. To him, his life of crime wasn’t her business. She knew what kind of man her father was. A ruthless one. He was still her father. She loved him. But she’d never bow down to his demands.

He got into her space, his scowl even fiercer than before. “Listen well, Jemma, because I will not repeat myself. Stay away from that detective.” He stepped back and sat down. “End of discussion.”

“Or what?”

His brows puckered as his lips thinned. “You won’t like the outcome.”

“Promise me you won’t hurt him.” She tried so hard to keep the desperation out of her voice, but she knew she failed. She almost slipped out, “I love him” as well. It wouldn’t do well for her father to know that. He probably already figured it out, anyway.

“This conversation is over.”

“He’s a good man. If you just gave him a chance—”

His hand slammed down on the desk. “You want a promise, Jemma. I promise you that if you don’t stay away from that detective, you will cry. And I hate seeing my little girl cry.”

She knew then she lost the battle with her father. Why did he care she was dating a detective? Probably because he knew Abe would never turn dirty for him. Abe wasn’t useful for anything in her father’s eyes.

God, what would Abe say? She tried to tell him her father wouldn’t like it. That he would hurt him. As long as she broke it off, he wouldn’t touch Abe.

“We’re done here, Jemma.” He flicked his hand with a small wave.

Just like that, the tears wanted to fall. She abruptly turned and walked out of her father’s office before the dam burst. How did her father even find out she was seeing Abe? They’d kept it from him for six months, and now he suddenly knows.

Her steps slowed. Or did he know all along? Did he only allow it so she could enjoy herself for a little while? That seemed like something her father would do. Why did it matter now? Was something going on she didn’t know about? Was he really going to hurt Abe regardless?

The tears came instantly, like a steady stream, then without warning, into a rough current. Even if she wanted to stop them, she couldn’t. Deep, retching sobs echoed around the quiet house. She couldn’t let her father hear. She wanted to hate him so badly.

Running outside, through the gardens in the backyard, she sank to the ground in front of the wrought iron bench her father had made for her mother before she passed away when she was a little girl. He had such love for her mother. Why did his love have to be so cruel with her? How could he take her only one true love away from her?

She didn’t want to let Abe go. She wasn’t even sure she could…no matter what her father said.

Her heavy cries ricocheted around the gardens. Who knew tears could burn? Like hot lava pouring in a steady stream down her face. The pain was so unbearable. She didn’t know how she would explain any of this to Abe.

Almost like a faucet, the tears stopped.

Would her father hurt him without giving her a chance to say goodbye? She had a sick feeling something else was going on and her father planned to hurt him despite everything he said.

Standing up, wiping the tearstains away, she straightened her spine and her heart. She needed to be strong. For herself. For Abe.

What she was about to do wouldn’t be easy.

Eek! I hope you enjoyed this weeks flash. And now for the surprise! Drum roll, please…

I have a new book available for pre-order. The Danger With Love. And what’s so special about this book you’re probably wondering? Well, it’s not related to Jemma and Abe whatsoever, but it does happen to have the mob in it as well. It’s exciting, full of danger, and a sexy FBI agent undercover.

A beautiful wedding. An exquisite dress. A night to remember. If only she were the bride. Sarafina just wants her fairytale ending like all her friends, but she seems doomed to always be the bridesmaid. Until she runs into him—the groomsman walking her down the aisle. Play ball!

Guess what’s here?!?! Baseball is back! If you didn’t know (or couldn’t guess it), I’m a huge baseball fanatic. Love my Minnesota Twins! And spring training has officially started. For me, there’s nothing better than baseball season. And yes, I’m one of those crazy fans that watches the game until the game is officially over. That means even if my team is losing by ten runs, there’s only one out left, one strike to go…I’m still glued to the television with the optimism that my team can come back and win. Game ain’t over until it’s over! *chuckles*

In honor of baseball finally here, Protecting You, (Book 1 in A McCord Family Novel) is Free from today (2/26/17) until March 2, 2017! And book 2, Trust in Love, is only $.99 from today (2/26/17) until March 3, 2017.

Why did I pick these two books you ask? Great question. Because the McCord’s love baseball. Like, love!!! Especially Ava, who’s a huge Yankees fan, but hey, I won’t hold that against her. But just so you know, the McCord’s love the Twins like me. *wink*

One Taste of Love is here!

OMG! I’m so excited. Not only is it February 21, which is a cool date just because I love the number 21. Yeah, yeah, I’m weird like that. *grins* But it’s also the release date for One Taste of Love!!!! When it comes to this series, I just can’t decide who I love more yet, Zeke and Zoe, or Ben and Rina. lol. And don’t get me started on Dee and Sauer. *chuckles* I’m having so much fun working on their story right now.

Pour that bubbly and celebrate with me! It’s release day.♥

One Taste of Love

Detective Ben Stoyer finally asked out Rina, the woman he pined over for way too long. She turns him down in her delicate, sweet way that he shouldn’t love. When the victim in his latest murder case looks just like her, there’s nothing that can keep him away, not even Rina herself.

Rina Chastain wants to give in to Ben, but she can’t. And she means can’t every time she tells him so. Her father would ruin it. He always does. Yet, Ben’s so charming she can’t help but give in. One thing’s for sure. The relationship is doomed to fail—by a serial killer, or her meddling father.

♥ Warning: This novel contains a sexy detective. There is insta-love. If you don’t want to read that kind of book, turn back now! But you know you wanna. ♥
